I don’t think micro transactions are a bad thing, I just think they’re getting out of hand. Some extra content these days costs more than the game itself. Another problem is that if you have money, you don’t need that much skill to go far in the game.

Before microtransactions, when you first buy the game, you buy the full game. Now with microtransactions games have DlC (downloadable content) which cost around $20-$30 more. The problem with DLCs is that it makes the consumer feel like they’re not getting the full game on initial purchase. This is good for business, bad for customers.

Console games have been locked to $60-some believe that consumers won’t be willing to pay more than $60 up front for a video game. Game developers had to come up with way to actually make profit; microtransactions. At the end of the day, it’s a business that needs to make money to thrive. Clash of Clans, arguably the biggest phone game, generated $2.3 billion in revenue and and profited $964 million last year. So microtransactions actually work, people are spending money.I hate to break it to you but if you have a lot of money to spend, you will surely do well in the game.

people argue that microtransactions are ruining the user experience in free-to-play games, but they still go ahead spend the money on the extra content. The truth of the matter is that microtransactions are here to stay. Game developers have realized the amount of money  they can make from extra content alone.
